Ok, think of it as a storage room with a door with multiple unique locks. Each person has his unique key which will let him in. As long as he has his key no one can prevent his entry. Further, in RVault, no single user can remove contents.

DigiLocker is great. However, its purpose is entirely different. While you can store documents, it is meant to access GOI documents and store ones' personal documents. It's a personal storage space. RVault is more than a personal storage space. It is for a group of people. It helps the users to control access of contents the when and how they decide.

Google Drive, Dropbox and others are storage services. By design they put the control and ownership in the hands of one person.And that is the Danger. Access to documents can be terminated at any time by this one person. Rvault is much more than a storage space. By its very nature it ensures all users are in control of the contents. Once the vault the document cannot be deleted. Moreover, when the time comes a user can pass on control of his account to his nominee, thus ensuring entitlements reach the intended recipients smoothly.

Of course you can do that. Each can hold a copy of any of these documents. But, every time someone wants to add a document, copies need to be sent to everyone. This is obviously a hassle. Moreover, physical copies can always be misplaced or destroyed.

1.It offers peace of mind. Everyone will know, what their entitlements are and any person with mala-fide intent cannot cause havoc on other's lives.
2.In case any original documents are mis-placed damaged etc. you will have something in hand to chase and get duplicates from concerned authorities.
3.Think of this as a service spanning multiple generations or Trusts. All documents remain in perpetuity and ownership is passed on seamlessly in a transparent manner.

At this initial stage we recommend you store public documents like Sale deeds, partnership documents, Insurance papers, Investment details, Bank accounts, deposits etc. In Word, PDF, EXCEL files Do NOT store very private and sensitive information like passwords, codes etc. We will let you know when its safe to do so. You can store WORD, PDF and EXCEL documents. The service will not allow any other file extensions for the sake of security. At this point you cannot view documents from within RVault, you must download the document on your system and use appropriate software to view files. RVault is simply a digital storage room. So we encourage you to name your files appropriately.

Every activity in an account, from the first step of opening an account to the most recent activity will be maintained in timestamped log, which can be viewed by any of the members.
